The UTRGV Counseling Center will host a time management workshop, titled “Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That,” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Student Union’s Palmetto Room on the Edinburg campus. Community Service Fair
The Office of Leadership and Social Change will host a Community Service Fair from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on the Main Building lawn on the Brownsville campus. On the Edinburg campus, the event will take place at the same time on the Chapel lawn. Students can learn how to get involved in their communities and learn about nonprofit agencies. Jazz concert
The UTRGV Jazz Combo will perform at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Complex on the Edinburg campus. The concert is part of the Patron of the Arts Student Ensemble Series. Admission is $5. For more information, call 665-3881.
InqSpot Book Club
Students may pick up a copy of Erika L. Sanchez’s book, “I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter,” while supplies last, at the Student Union Info Desk on the Edinburg campus and in the game room on the Brownsville campus. A discussion of the book will take place from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in the Student Union Loft on the Edinburg campus and in the Student Union’s El Comedor on the Brownsville campus. Student Ensemble Series
The first UTRGV Masterworks Concert will take place at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Complex on the Edinburg campus. This concert will feature Mozart’s Requiem, sung by the University Choir with orchestra conducted by music Assistant Professor David Means. The guest soloists for the masterwork will be Associate Professor Rebecca Coberly, soprano; Maria Avalos, mezzo-soprano; Associate Professor David Sadlier, tenor; and Timothy Watkins, bass-baritone. UTRGV #Subculture: The Future Is Now
UTRGV artists, musicians and more will come together for #Subculture: The Future Is Now from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday in downtown Brownsville (Adams Street, between 11th and 12th streets). The event will feature workshops on printmaking, demystifying robotics, gaming, drumming, virtual reality and cultural digital photography and more. Admission is free.
