October 6
9:48 a.m.: A student lost his wallet at the University Library in Edinburg. It contained his driver’s license, military ID, Social Security, debit and bank cards. The student was advised to notify the Social Security office and his bank.
October 7
2:29 a.m.: University Police arrested a driver on a charge of driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for speeding at the 1800 block of North Jackson Road in Edinburg and displayed signs of intoxication. The driver was also charged with resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor, and assault causing bodily injury to a public servant, a third degree felony.
1:04 p.m.: A faculty member in Brownsville requested help with a debt collector who was demanding payment during regular business hours. University Police issued the debt collector a trespass warning.
1:50 p.m.: A student reported that she fainted at a shuttle stop on the Edinburg campus. Her boyfriend escorted her to Health Services, where she was treated. She was later transported to Edinburg Regional Hospital by ambulance.
7:44 p.m.: A student reported that her boyfriend assaulted her at their off- campus apartment. University Police advised her of the Victims Advocate Services available on campus. Edinburg Police are investigating the incident.
October 8
3:46 a.m.: University Police stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at the 900 block of North Sugar Road in Edinburg and discovered a marijuana bong in the back seat of the vehicle. The driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, no driver’s license, no liability insurance and given a warning for no license plate light.
12:02 p.m.: A student fell off his skateboard while on the covered walkway, hitting his head on a pillar by the Health Science East building in Edinburg. His mother took him to Doctors Hospital Renaissance, where he received stitches.
8p.m.: Two company recruiters reported damage to their vehicles while they were parked on university property. Surveillance footage was reviewed and it was determined that the damage did not occur on campus.
October 9
12:08 a.m.: A driver was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after he was stopped for speeding on the 1600 block of East Mile 171⁄2 Road in Edinburg.
