1:23 p.m.: An officer encountered a student who jumped over a locked fence into the east side track on the Edinburg campus and disregarded the officer’s orders to leave the track. The student was found in the Railway Safety Portable Building and stated that he decided to disregard and continue to pass through the track and jump the fence on the south side to get to the portable building. This incident will be forwarded to Student Rights and Responsibilities for further review.
April 3
9:15 a.m.: A staff member working a special assignment in Lot E-10 on the Edinburg campus felt ill, which may have been heat related. The staff member sought medical attention on his own and is back at work.
9:35 a.m.: A staff member reported losing her university employee ID on the Edinburg campus. The ID card also worked as an access control card. It is in the process of being deactivated.
April 6
8:29 a.m.: A contractor reported tools and radio equipment were taken from a construction trailer that was burglarized on the site of the Institute for Neuroscience Building on the Harlingen campus. There were signs of a forced entry. A Timely Warning Notification was sent regarding this incident. The case is under investigation.
