The following are among the incidents reported to University Police between Sept. 7 and 8.
Sept. 7
10:32 a.m.: Officers responded to the UT Health RGV Multispecialty Clinic in Edinburg in reference to a man being verbally abusive toward clinic staff members. He was arrested and booked into the Edinburg Municipal Jail on a charge of disorderly conduct (class C misdemeanor).
Sept. 8
11:01 a.m.: A UT Health employee reported a suspicious man at the UT Health RGV Area Health Education Centers Primary Care in San Carlos. The man had previously been seen in the women’s restrooms several times, and the employees were concerned with his behavior and did not want him at the location. UTRGV police officers made contact with the man and issued a criminal trespass warning prohibiting him from all university properties.
5:26 p.m.: An officer checked the status of a vehicle stopped on the roadway and impeding traffic on the 500 block of North Sugar Road in Edinburg. The officer made contact with the occupant of the vehicle, who was sleeping behind the wheel and exhibited signs of intoxication. A field investigation revealed the man was under the influence of narcotics. The man was arrested and booked into the Edinburg Municipal Jail on a charge of public intoxication (class C misdemeanor).
8:50 p.m.: An officer conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle failing to drive in a single lane and striking a safety construction barrel on the 1200 block of West Chapin Street in Edinburg. A field investigation revealed that the non-affiliated driver was intoxicated and, after a search incident to arrest, three alprazolam tablets were allegedly found on her person. She was booked into the Edinburg Municipal Jail and the vehicle was impounded by the on-call wrecker service.
