What are the differences between your hometown and the United States?
“I think there are several differences between my city and the United States. One of them is the lifestyle. In Mexico, I feel that there is a lovely energy in the streets, where people tend to help each other and show great creativity in their interactions. In Mexico, lunch and dinner do not take place as early as it is customary in the United States. While in the United States it is common to have dinner around 5, 6 or 7, in Mexico dinners take place between 8 or 9 and even 10.”
If you could be somewhere right now, where would you want to be?
“I would like to be on a beach in Mexico with all my family and friends.”
Who is your role model?
“My role model is my parents, especially my dad. I feel that he is my biggest inspiration because I really admire his work ethic and good attitude. He is always positive when he does something and it spreads to all of us.”
Why did you choose the major you are in?
“I chose marketing because my dream is to have my own company. … I feel that learning about marketing is going to help me know how to promote my company.”
What advice would you give other international students?
“Don’t be afraid and follow your dreams. It’s going to be worth it.”
