Let’s Get Cookin’ Series
Learn how to make flour tortillas from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today in the Brownsville Public Library Main Branch, located at 2600 Central Blvd. Admission is free. The event is part of the library’s “Let’s Get Cookin’” series.
Movie Night
“Under the Same Moon,” a 2007 film directed by Patricia Riggen and starring Eugenio Derbez, will be screened at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Brownsville Public Library Main Branch, located at 2600 Central Blvd. Admission is free.
The Brownsville Parks and Recreation Department will host “Cycle the Streets,” an ’80s-themed event from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday. The route starts on East Seventh Street, between Ringgold and East Taylor streets, and ends on East 10th Street, between Washington and Elizabeth streets. Admission is free.
The Kiwanis Club of Edinburg and the Doctors Hospital at Renaissance Health will host a “Carnival of Hope” for children who have been affected by cancer from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the Edinburg Activity Center, 123 E. Palm Drive. Admission is free.

Art Show
The 48th International Art Show, featuring artists from the Rio Grande Valley and across the country, will open at 6 p.m. Friday in the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art, located at 660 E. Ringgold St. Admission is free.
