Vaquero Puzzle Challenge
The Student Union will host the Vaquero Puzzle Challenge for National Puzzle Day from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Student Union Game Room on both campuses. Winners will receive UTRGV merch. Free gummies with chamoy will be available.
Tabling/Recruitment
The Omega Delta Phi will pass out flyers to promote Rush Week, during which students can learn about and join Greek organizations, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Student Union on the Edinburg campus.
Scoops for Success
The National Society of Leadership and Success and Center for Student Involvement will serve Jalisco-style ice cream from noon to 2 p.m. in Music, Science & Learning Center Room 1.105 on the Brownsville campus. Students can decorate a tote bag, journal and picture frame.
Tuesday
Luncheon with Comptroller Glenn Hegar
The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce will host a luncheon with Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Brownsville Events Center, located at 1 Events Center Blvd. The event is free and open to the public.
Student Organization Training
The Center for Student Involvement will give out information about the student organizations and resources available from noon to 1 p.m. in Student Union Room 2.406 on the Edinburg campus.
Navigating Leadership
The Center for Student Involvement and Student Leadership Academy will host a workshop on how to become a leader, self-discovery and personal growth from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Music, Science & Learning Center Room 1.105 on the Brownsville campus. The event will also take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the University Center Bronc Room on the Edinburg campus.
Battle of the Fans
The Campus Activities Board will host an event where students can come and represent their favorite artists while making their own merch from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Student Union’s PlainsCapital Bank El Gran Salón on the Brownsville campus. Free food will be available.
Rhythm Night
The Student Union will host a free salsa dance class from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Student Union’s La Sala on the Brownville campus. Students must bring a university ID to participate. There will be free snacks.
Wednesday
Health Expo
The Lower Valley Community & Senior Health & Wellness Expo will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Brownsville Events Center, located at 1 Events Center Blvd. The event will feature free health screenings and consultations. Winter Texans are welcome.
Voter Registration Drive
Vaqueros Vote will host a voter registration drive from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Main Courtyard on the Brownsville campus and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Union on the Edinburg campus. The event is in preparation for the presidential primary election in March.
Thursday
Fútbol Club 24 Tournament
The Student Union will host a FIFA tournament from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Student Union Game Room on the Edinburg campus. Participants must present a student ID. Winners will receive V Bucks.
Friday
Emerging Leader Conference
The Center for Student Involvement and Student Leadership Academy will host a conference on values, communication styles and teamwork from 9 a.m. to noon in Salón Cassia on the Brownsville campus.
Alegría Ballet Folklórico
The UTRGV Ballet Folklórico will present Alegría, a performance of traditional Mexican dance and music, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday at the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex on the Edinburg campus. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens, and $5 for children.
Saturday
Brownsville Farmers Market
The Brownsville Farmers Market will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Linear Park, located at 1534 E. Sixth St. Vendors will sell fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs and other goods.
