
The following are among the incidents reported to University Police between Jan. 29 and Feb. 3.
Jan. 29
8:40 a.m.: Officers were dispatched regarding a fire alarm in Heritage Hall on the Edinburg campus. Upon arrival, it was determined a student set off the alarm while cooking a meal.
12:59 p.m.: An officer on foot patrol observed a student using her personal transportation device on the Bronc Trail on the Edinburg campus. Upon contact, the student was informed of the policy and left the area without further incident.
Jan. 30
1:55 p.m.: An officer responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision in Lot E-16 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
2:08 p.m.: An officer was notified of a UTRGV-issued laptop that was stolen from a student in the Texas Southmost College Recreation Center on the Brownsville campus. The laptop did not contain any sensitive information. The case is under investigation.
6:26 p.m.: A student reported finding a scratch on her vehicle after she returned to it from class in Lot E-26 on the Edinburg campus. The case is under investigation.
7:01 p.m.: A student reported losing his wallet in the Student Services Building on the Edinburg campus.
Jan. 31
9:38 a.m.: An officer responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision in Lot E-25 on the Edinburg campus. No injuries were reported.
10:44 p.m.: A UTRGV facility reported damage to a university golf cart when its from left tires came off near the Texas Southmost College Recreation Center in Brownsville. The vehicle was inoperable and left in the parking lot.
Feb. 1
5:29 p.m.: A student reported losing his dorm and car keys in Lot B-6 on the Brownsville campus.
Feb. 2
12:08 p.m.: University officers and Environmental Health, Safety & Risk Management personnel were dispatched regarding a fire alarm in Troxel Hall on the Edinburg campus. Upon arrival, the building was checked and deemed safe for re-entry.
Feb. 312:35 a.m.: Officers were dispatched to investigate a vehicle robbery in The Village Apartments on the Edinburg campus. After further investigation, a timely warning was sent to the campus community. The case is under investigation.
