Cesar Chavez Day of Service Virtual Info Session

The Center for Student Involvement will host a virtual info session for student organizations interested in participating in the Cesar Chavez Day of Service today and Tuesday at noon via Zoom. ID: 869 7329 3911. The session will provide guidance on selecting nonprofit organizations, coordinating volunteer opportunities and aligning efforts with Cesar Chavez’s mission.

RGV German Club

The RGV German Club will meet from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. in Interdisciplinary Academic Building Room 2.212 on the Brownsville campus.

Black History Month Celebration

The Center for Student Involvement will host an event honoring Black History Month at noon in the University Ballroom on the Edinburg campus. The celebration will highlight the rich history, culture and contributions of the Black community.

BSM Snackity Snack

The Baptist Student Ministry will host “Snackity Snack” from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the Student Union East Patio on the Edinburg campus. Members will socialize and share the Gospel with students through snacks.

K.I.S.S. Meeting

The Korean International Student Society will meet from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. through Thursday in Health Affairs Building West Room 1.406 on the Edinburg campus to talk about Korean culture, music and language.

Zumba

University Recreation will host a zumba session from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. today and Wednesday in UREC Studio 1 on the Edinburg campus. The fitness program combines Latin and international music with dance moves, incorporating interval training to improve cardiovascular fitness.

Baja Racing Snack Bar
The Society of Automotive Engineers RGV Baja Racing Team will host a snack bar through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Engineering Building on the Edinburg campus. Snacks, candy and drinks will be available for purchase.

Tuesday

Friendship Bracelets

The Baptist Student Ministry will host a friendship bracelet-making event from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Building South lobby on the Edinburg campus.

Why Do Catholics…?

The Catholic Student Association will host a discussion from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Student Union Room 2.328 on the Edinburg campus and at the same time on  Tuesday in Interdisciplinary Academic Building Room 2.220 on the Brownsville campus. The weekly series explores Catholic traditions and theology.

Cycle Fit

University Recreation will host a cycling class from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. in UREC Studio 1 on the Edinburg campus. Participants will pedal through hill climbs, sprints and challenging drills for a full-body cardiovascular workout. 

Chess Club Meeting

The Chess Club will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. in Education Complex Room 2.102 on the Edinburg campus. The meeting will provide an opportunity to learn and play chess. All individuals are welcome to attend. 

Sigma Lambda Gamma Meeting

The Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Student Union Sage Room on the Edinburg campus.

Stairmaster Challenge

University Recreation will host a Stairmaster Challenge from 4 to 9 p.m. in the University Recreation Building on the Edinburg campus. Participants will compete to see who has the longest endurance on level 10 of the Stairmaster.

Wednesday

Charreada

Student Activities will host a Charreada in honor of the City of Brownsville’s annual Charro Days festivities from 2 to 5 p.m. on the Student Union lawn on the Brownsville campus. Attendees can enjoy live music, a dance performance, a petting zoo, rides, contests and more.

Brownsville Accounting Association 

The Brownsville Accounting Association will meet at 12:30 p.m. in Interdisciplinary Academic Building Room 1.221 on the Brownsville campus. Members will discuss key topics and organization updates. The event ispen to all students.

Made in His Image

The Baptist Student Ministry will host “Made in His Image” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Building South lobby on the Edinburg campus. The event focuses on spreading the Gospel through art.

Color & Chat

The Sociology Club will host Color & Chat at 2 p.m. in Sabal Hall Room 2.110A on the Brownsville campus. The event provides an opportunity to socialize while enjoying coloring activities. Supplies will be provided.

Thursday

Lunch & Learn

The UTRGV Center for Innovation & Commercialization will host a Lunch & Learn at 12:30 p.m. in its building, located at 307 E. Railroad St. in Weslaco, and via Zoom. ID: 259 222 0700. This session will explore cooperative business models and their role in supporting small businesses, employee retention and community resilience. The event is open to students, faculty, staff and community members. Free food will be provided.

Duo Billiards Tournament

The Student Union will host a Duo Billiards Tournament at 1 p.m. in the Student Union game rooms on the Edinburg and Brownsville campuses. Students can register through V Link or at the Game Room for a chance to win V-Bucks. Free popcorn will be available. A Student ID is required to participate.

Psychology Club Meeting

The Psychology Club will meet at 3:30 p.m. in Student Academic Center Room 1.112 on the Edinburg campus.

Become a Deputy Voter Registrar

The Vaqueros Vote Group and the Center for Student Involvement will host a session to become a Deputy Voter Registrar for Cameron County at 3 p.m. in Music, Science and Learning Center Room 1.105 on the Brownsville campus. Learn the tools to register voters and make an impact in your community. Free food will be provided.

IEEE ESB 24-Hour Hackathon

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers will host a 24-Hour Online Hackathon at 5 p.m. via Zoom. ID: 677 661 2742. Participants can put their coding skills to the test, tackle challenges and compete for prizes. Join from anywhere and collaborate with peers to create innovative solutions. The event is open to all students.
