Last Friday, the Student Government Association held a short meeting to discuss the Homecoming and Charreada events happening this week.
During the meeting, Student Involvement Director Delma Olivarez spoke about the events via Skype.
Olivarez said they distributed fliers earlier on Friday about the upcoming burning of the UTRGV letters during the Tailgate Party, which starts at 5 p.m. Saturday.
She also invited students to participate this Thursday and Friday in the events such as Charreada on the Brownsville campus, Vaqueros Luncheon, the Challenge of the Deans on the Edinburg campus for Thursday and a baseball game at 7 p.m. Friday at the stadium on the Edinburg campus.
“Of course, we also share the link for the show for those of you coming from Brownsville,” Olivarez said. “That’s a great way to have fun in the shuttle and participate in Homecoming as well.”
She said the Vaquero Express Connector shuttle will be available at its regular route times for those who want to participate in activities on both campuses.
More events will be hosted at both campuses.

“I hope that you all go and participate,” Olivarez said.
In other news, issues such as reinforcing the no-smoking policy and adding more variety to the Sodexo menu on the Brownsville campus were briefly mentioned.
