Name: The Chess Club at UTRGV
Purpose: To serve the entire community of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and foster an increased interest, participation and enjoyment of the game of chess in surrounding communities; promote chess as an art and intellectual sport, and strive to uphold the name and reputation of the university.

Activities: Teaches at local schools, conducts private lessons, group lessons, helps and hosts chess tournaments, and competes.
Meetings: 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday and Thursday in STAC 1.112A in Edinburg and 4-7 p.m. Fridays in Sabal Hall 2.106 on the Brownsville campus.
