Earth Fest

Celebrate Earth Day at Earth Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Student Union lawn on the Brownsville campus. In Edinburg, the event will take place at the same time Thursday on the Student Union lawn. The event will feature movies, arts, crafts and snacks. For more information, call 882-8292.

Symphony orchestra

The UTRGV Symphony Orchestra will perform its final concert of the season at 7 p.m. in the Texas Southmost College Performing Arts Center in Brownsville. On the Edinburg campus, the event will take place at the same time Wednesday in the Performing Arts Complex. Admission is $5. For more information, call 882-7025.

Student Ensemble Series

The UTRGV Master Chorale will perform at 7 p.m. in the Texas Southmost College Performing Arts Center in Brownsville. Also performing will be the Pace Early College High School Chorale and Brownsville Festival Chorus. Admission is $5. For more information, call 665-3881.

Faculty Showcase Recital

UTRGV School of Music Faculty will perform at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Complex on the Edinburg campus. The performance will include a variety of musical styles and instruments such as woodwinds, brass, strings and more. Admission is free. For more information, call

Chess Club meetings

The UTRGV Chess Club meets from 4 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday in Cortez Hall 118 on the Brownsville campus. Meetings are open to the community. For more information, call 882-5762.

Taco ’Bout It Some More

Leadership and Social Change will host an intercultural speaker panel at 11 a.m. in Salón Cassia on the Brownsville campus. The panel will discuss cultural issues pertaining to Autism Awareness Month. Free tacos and drinks will be served. For more information, email leadership@utrgv.edu.

Denim Day

The Office for Victim Advocacy & Violence Prevention will observe Denim Day at 11 a.m. in the Student Union north lawn on the Edinburg campus. On the Brownsville campus, the event will take place at the same time in the Main Courtyard. Attendees are encouraged to wear denim to show support in ending sexual assault. EmpoweRun 5K

The Office for Victim Advocacy & Violence Prevention will host a 5K Color Run for Violence Awareness. Check in is at 5:30 p.m. and the run starts at 6 p.m. in the rotunda of the Biomedical Research Building on the Brownsville campus. The first 100 participants to register will receive a free T-shirt. Super Smash Bros. tournament

A Super Smash Bros. tournament will take place at 12:30 p.m. in the game room on the Edinburg campus. Students can play for free and get a chance to earn VBucks. For more information, call 665-7890.

Friday

The Western Athletic Conference Tennis Tournament will take place Friday through Sunday at the Brownsville Tennis Center. UTRGV Women’s Tennis will host Chicago State University at 9 a.m. Friday in the first round of matches. UTRGV Men’s Tennis will play against Chicago State at 1 p.m. Friday. Tournament semifinals will be on Saturday and the championship matches on Sunday. Admission is free. For more information, call 665-3415.
