Turning Point USA
Turning Point USA at UTRGV, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that educates and organizes students on the benefits of freedom, fiscal responsibility and small government, will conduct an informational and recruitment session from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in the Student Union on the Edinburg campus. They will distribute stickers, posters and buttons from the national organization.
Thriving Study Halls

Hispanic Heritage Month
The UTRGV Library will host a discussion on library resources dealing with Hispanic heritage from 11:30 a.m. to noon via Zoom. RSVP is available on V Link.
Virtual Involvement Fair
The Center for Student Involvement will host a virtual fair to help students connect with organizations registered at UTRGV from noon to 2 p.m. via Zoom. RSVP is available on V Link.
Hispanic Heritage Month
The University Library will screen the short film, “Wási (Ver),” by filmmaker Amado Vilafaña Chaparro, from noon to 12:30 p.m. via online. The movie tells the story of the indigenous Arhuaco community of Kutunzama (Magdalena, Colombia). RSVP is available on V Link.
Coffee and Careers

The Baptist Student Ministry offers students free lunch at 12:30 p.m. every Thursday in the BSM building, located across from the UREC on the Edinburg campus.

The Pharr Community Theater will host four short plays at 7:30 p.m. in the Pharr Amphitheater, 118 S. Cage Blvd., to commemorate Mexico’s Independence Day. The plays will be presented again at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday in the Pepe Salinas Auditorium, 1011 W. Kelly Ave. Admission is free.

Ally Safe Zone
The Center for Diversity & Inclusion and DREAM Resource Center will host a training from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. via Zoom to promote a welcoming and inclusive environment to members of the LGBTQIA+ community. RSVP is available on V Link.
Sunday
Soprano & Piano Concert
Soprano Rebecca Coberly and pianist Stacy Kwak will perform in concert in the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex on the Edinburg campus. Coberly is a professor and Kwak is a lecturer in the School of Music. Admission is free.
