Turning Point USA
Turning Point USA at UTRGV, a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that educates and organizes students on the benefits of freedom, fiscal responsibility and small government, will conduct an informational and recruitment session from 12:30 to 3 p.m. in the Student Union on the Edinburg campus. They will distribute stickers, posters and buttons from the national organization.

Hispanic Heritage Month
The University Library will screen the short film, “Wási (Ver),” by filmmaker Amado Vilafaña Chaparro, from noon to 12:30 p.m. via online. The movie tells the story of the indigenous Arhuaco community of Kutunzama (Magdalena, Colombia). RSVP is available on V Link.

The Pharr Community Theater will host four short plays at 7:30 p.m. in the Pharr Amphitheater, 118 S. Cage Blvd., to commemorate Mexico’s Independence Day. The plays will be presented again at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday in the Pepe Salinas Auditorium, 1011 W. Kelly Ave. Admission is free.

Soprano & Piano Concert
Soprano Rebecca Coberly and pianist Stacy Kwak will perform in concert in the UTRGV Performing Arts Complex on the Edinburg campus. Coberly is a professor and Kwak is a lecturer in the School of Music. Admission is free.
