K.I.S.S. Meeting
The Korean International Student Society will conduct a general meeting from 2 to 3:15 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Tuesday in Mathematics & General Classrooms Room 2.210 on the Edinburg campus. Students can interact with people who are passionate about Korean culture, music and language.
Tuesday
Voting Pi Day
The Civic Engagement Alliance will host voting registration from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Student Union patio on the Edinburg campus and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Main Courtyard on the Brownsville campus. Pies and drinks will be provided.
Distinguished Speaker Series
The Distinguished Speaker Series will host Eduardo Chavez, director, podcast host and grandson of Cesar Chavez, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the PlainsCapital Bank El Gran Salón on the Brownsville campus. There will be a showing of “Hailing Cesar,” a documentary directed by Eduardo Chavez that honors Cesar Chavez’s legacy as a farmworkers rights activist. A question and answer session will follow the documentary. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Harry Potter Trivia
The Student Union will host Harry Potter trivia from 2 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom. RSVP through V Link to receive a Zoom link.
Wednesday
K.I.S.S. Fundraiser
The Korean International Student Society will host a ramen and Asian snacks fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the University Library courtyard on the Edinburg campus.
Women in Comics
The University Library will hold a Graphic Thoughts session to discuss women in comics from 5 to 6 p.m. via Zoom. RSVP through V Link to receive a Zoom link.
Thursday
Poker Tournament
The Student Union will host a Poker Tournament from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Student Union Game Room on the Edinburg campus.
Movie Night
The Council for Cultural Activities and the Center for Student Involvment will show “On the Basis of Sex” from 5 to 6 p.m. in Music, Science and Learning Center Room 1.105 on the Brownsville campus and from 7 to 8 p.m. in Student Academic Center Room 1.112 on the Edinburg campus. The movie chronicles Ruth Bader Ginsburg as a struggling attorney and new mother who faces adversity and numerous obstacles in her fight for equal rights. The event is part of Women’s History Month.
Friday
The People Series
Students can learn about Gloria Anzaldúa, a queer Chicana poet, writer and scholar, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. via Zoom. The event is hosted by the Center for Diversity and Inclusion and DREAM Resource Center. To RSVP, visit V Link.
‘Coriolanus’
The UTRGV Theatre Department will present “Coriolanus” at 7:30 p.m. in the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre on the Edinburg campus. “Coriolanus” is a Shakespearean tragedy about a military leader-turned-politician. Additional performance dates are at 7:30 p.m. on April 2 and at 2 p.m. on April 3. Admission is free.
