Today

Homecoming Block Party

Student Activities will host the Homecoming Block Party on the Student Union lawn on the Brownsville campus. The event will be an afternoon of live music, creative activities, and school spirit to campus, with former American Idol contestant, Brody Rivers.

RGV German Club

The RGV German Club will meet from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. in Interdisciplinary Academic Building Room 2.212 on the Brownsville campus.

Swiftie Karaoke

The Student Union Game Room will host a Swiftie Karaoke event from 1 to 2 p.m. on the Edinburg campus. Students can register on VLink or at the Game Room to participate. A student ID is required.

BSM Snackity Snack

The Baptist Student Ministry will host “Snackity Snack” from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the Student Union East Patio on the Edinburg campus. Members will socialize and share the Gospel with students through snacks.

Window Painting Contest

The Student Unions will host a Window Painting Contest that will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses throughout Homecoming Week. All registered student organizations in good standing are invited to participate by decorating assigned windows to showcase their Vaquero pride.

K.I.S.S Meeting

The Korean International Student Society will meet from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. through Thursday in the Health Affairs West Building Room 1.406 on the Edinburg campus to talk about Korean culture, music and language.

Zumba

University Recreation will have a Zumba session from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. today and Wednesday in UREC Studio 1. The fitness program combines Latin and international music with dance moves, incorporating interval training to improve cardiovascular fitness.

Region 5 Exam Day

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Edinburg Student Branch will host the Region 5 Competitor Selection Exam Day from 5 to 8 p.m. in Engineering Building Room 1.300. Participants can spot on an IEEE ESB competition team for the upcoming Region 5 Conference through exams and presentations tailored to specific competitions.

Why Do Catholics…?

The Catholic Student Association invites UTRGV students and staff to explore topics related to Catholicism from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Interdisciplinary Academic Building Room 2.220 on the Brownsville campus. Weekly sessions cover various aspects of the Catholic faith, including traditions and theology. 

Cycle Fit

University Recreation will host a Cycle Fit session from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. in UREC Studio 1 on the Edinburg campus. The class offers a cardiovascular workout featuring hill climbs, sprints and cycling drills.

Sigma Lambda Gamma Meeting

The Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. will meet from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Student Union Sage Room on the Edinburg campus.

Wednesday

Leadership Bites: Love Language

The Student Leadership Academy will host a session from noon to 1 p.m. in the Main Building Courtyard on the Brownsville campus. Attendees can explore their love language and learn how understanding it can enhance leadership skills and relationships.

Made in His Image

The Baptist Student Ministry will host “Made in His Image” from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Liberal Arts Building South lobby on the Edinburg campus. The event focuses on spreading the Gospel through art.

Group Bible Study

The Christians at RGV will host a Bible study session from 12:15 to 1:45 p.m. in Interdisciplinary Academic Building Room 2.212 on the Brownsville campus. 

Slow Down and Sip

The Baptist Student Ministry will host a social event from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Health Affairs West on the Edinburg campus. Students can meet, socialize and connect over coffee in a relaxed setting.

Wrapping of the Letters

Students are invited to take part in preparing the iconic UTRGV letters from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Academic Support Facility on the Edinburg campus. The tradition leads up to the annual Burning of the Letters signature event.

Group Bible Study

The Catholic Student Association will host a Bible study from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Music, Science and Learning Center Room 1.105 on the Brownsville campus. Attendees can explore the Bible to deepen their faith and reflect on His word. 

Yoga

University Recreation will host a yoga session from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. in UREC Studio 1. The class will focus on foundational poses to improve alignment, strength, and flexibility, incorporating breathing techniques and meditation for mindful practice.

Vaquero Boots & BBQ

The Student Union will host Vaquero Boots & BBQ from 6 to 10 p.m. on the Quad on the Edinburg campus as part of the Homecoming celebration. Students are encouraged to wear their best boots for a boot-judging competition. The event will feature free food, games and country music, including performances by Eros Garcia and RED. Activities include country line dance lessons, a mechanical bull and student organization fundraisers. A valid student ID is required.

Anchor in Hope

The Catholic Student Association will host a faith discussion from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Life and Health Sciences Building Room 2.310 on the Brownsville campus. This weekly series features talks designed to inspire and enrich spiritual growth by exploring Catholic topics and their relevance to faith and life.

Psychology Club Meeting
The Psychology Club will host a general meeting from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Student Academic Center Room 1.112 on the Edinburg campus.

Chi Alpha Brownsville will host a large group gathering from 5 to 9 p.m. in Sabal Hall Room 1.108 on the Brownsville campus. The event will include worship, fellowship and prayer.

Homecoming: Burning of the Letters

UTRGV will host the Burning of the Letters from 8:30 to 9:15 p.m. outside the Fieldhouse on the Edinburg campus. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community can come together to celebrate school spirit in a night filled with energy, pride and tradition.

Boxing

University Recreation will host a boxing session from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. in UREC Studio 2 on the Edinburg campus. The class offers explosive boxing rounds to deliver combinations and master the necessary footwork.
