Painting in colors
Leadership and Social Change will host a painting activity at 11 a.m. in the Student Union’s La Sala on the Brownsville campus. Participants can express their culture/identity through painting. For more information, email leadership@utrgv.edu.
Belay clinic
University Recreation will host a course on how to safely belay climbers at 7 p.m. in the UREC on the Edinburg campus. Students who complete the course can belay others at the UREC Rock Climbing Wall. Registration fee is $10. For more information, email urec@utrgv.edu.

‘Super Smash Bros.’
A “Super Smash Bros.” tournament will take place at noon in the game room on the Brownsville campus. Students can play for free and get a chance to earn VBucks. For more information, call 665-7890.
Support group
The OVAP will host a free support group at 12:15 p.m. in Health Affairs Building West 1.142 on the Edinburg campus. The support group is for dating, domestic violence, and sexual assault victims and survivors. For more information, call 665-8287.
Intercultural movie series
The University Library will host a screening of the documentary “Trouble the Water” at noon in Library Instruction 1.118 on the Brownsville campus. For more information, call 882-8221.
Strategic Initiatives Symposium
The symposium will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. in the PlainsCapital Bank El Gran Salón on the Brownsville campus. On the Edinburg campus, the event will take place at the same time in the University Center Ballroom. The presentation will discuss the giant puppets parade, tackling a turtle tumor threat, community resiliency from hurricane disasters and more. Light refreshments will be available. An UNO tournament will take place at noon in the game room on the Edinburg campus. On the Brownsville campus, the event will take place at the same time Wednesday in the game room. For more information, call 665-7890.

Brown bag chart

Battle of the Colleges
The UTRGV Men’s Basketball Team will host Seattle University at 7 p.m. in the Fieldhouse on the Edinburg campus. Deans from different colleges on campus will compete in a halftime free-throw shooting competition. The first 200 fans will receive a Valentine’s giveaway. Alegria 2019
UTRGV Ballet Folklórico presents “Alegria 2019” at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Complex on the Edinburg campus. Adults pay $15, seniors and students pay $10, and children pay $5. Tickets can be purchased at the door. For more information, call 665-2230.
Saturday
Homecoming Game and Tailgate
The UTRGV Men’s Basketball Team will host Utah Valley at 7 p.m. in the Fieldhouse on the Edinburg campus. A tailgate party celebrating homecoming festivities will be held in the parking lot before the game. Free admission to students with a valid ID. For more information, call 665-3415.
