Who is your favorite athlete? “Ray Lewis because he is one of the greatest leaders we’ve had in any sport. He really knows how to light a fire in people, and I would like to do the same.”
Who is your role model? “My mom is my role model because she is the embodiment of strength. She’s had a lot of things thrown her way. It would be so easy just to sit down, and not to change your own circumstance, but we’ve made the most out of the cards we’ve been dealt.”
What was the best advice you’ve been given and by whom? “The best advice I’ve been given was by my aunt, and she told me that life doesn’t give a crap about your plans, you know. Wherever you want to go, you will end up there. You just have to enjoy your journey.”
When did you begin playing volleyball, and why? “I started in seventh grade. It was part of athletics, and I thought it would be really fun, so I just picked it up and became progressively better. The sport became something I was very interested in.”
Did you win any awards? “I have won WAC Player of the Week twice in my career.”
What are your academic goals? “I am applying for medical school in May, so I want to get into medicine. And, a 4.0 this semester.”
How do you feel about being part of this team? “It feels amazing, you know. It feels like a family, so you feel really welcomed. I’m excited for what we have to offer because being in a university makes us have a whole lot to prove.”
What are your personal goals for this season? “To win the WAC championship, obviously. And, my personal goals are just to contribute what I can. I want to be a leader on the court, but also be more of a friend, or a sister, off the court.”
