Q: When did you first start playing?
A: “I started playing in my first year of high school. And I lived near a golf course in Arizona, and my dad just took me out there and we went to go play together.”
Q: Who are your favorite music artists?
A: “I like Elton John and Fleetwood Mac and George Strait.”
Q: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
A: “Usually, before I go to the golf course, I’ll pray and then … I’ll try to go eat breakfast with someone on the team so that we can just wind down before the tournament, so that I’m not all stressed and thinking too much.”
Q: Do you have any plans for summer break?
A: “[I’m] probably going to go and travel a little bit and try to play golf at different tournaments, like, around the country.”
Q: Who is your greatest inspiration?
A: “Definitely my mom because she’s a really strong woman, and she’s done a lot from where she comes from, and she just inspires me every day.”
Q: What do you think is the most important part of being an athlete?
A: “Definitely responsibility and empathy for all of the other players. And then, just trying to get along with everyone, since we’re all so diverse and come from different cultures. It’s hard because we’ve all have such different personalities, but I have learned that that is what makes us all unique, and we get along more because of that.”
