Coleman Grubbs is an undeclared sophomore and outfielder for the UTRGV Baseball Team. This is Grubbsโ first season with the Vaqueros.
If you could be any animal, what would it be and why? โDefinitely a shark because
theyโre, basically, the king of the ocean and theyโre my favorite animal.โ
What show or series are you currently into? โProbably, โCriminal Minds.โโ
Who is your personal hero and why? โDefinitely my dad because heโs always just been there for me. [He] makes me the man I am today. … I wouldnโt be at this amazing place without him.โ
Who makes you laugh the most on the team? โDefinitely Elijah [Alexander]. Heโs my roommate. I hang out with him all the time. Funny dude. Fun dude to be around.โ
What is the best advice youโve received recently? โDefinitely to not just play for yourself, but to play for other people. Everything that Coach [Derek] Matlock says, take it into accountability. Roll with it from there. It just impacts the team in a great way.โ
If a song played every time you walked into a room, what song would that be? โDefinitely my walk-up song, โGrillzโ by Nelly.โ
On your off time, what do you like to do? โI like to go shoot hoops every once in a while to get away from baseball. Just do any other sports, Iโm kind of a sports guy.โ
You can have one meal with one celebrity, what is your meal and who are you eating with? โDefinitely Chiliโs chicken tenders. I have to go with LeBron James. Iโd definitely be eating some Chiliโs with LeBron.โ
How are you feeling about the season this year? โWeโve definitely had our ups and downs. Going into conference I feel, like, we got this. Everyone on the team is starting to click together now.ย Iโm feeling really great about the season and Iโm excited to get it rolling.โ
