UTRGV wrongly denies vaccines to undocumented persons

On Feb. 20, an individual was denied a vaccine at the Edinburg vaccination site for not having a Social Security number. However, the Texas Department of State Health Services does not require immigration status or proof of residency for vaccination. In response to this, the university has made an effort to reach out to those individuals who were denied a vaccine and has partnered with La Unión Del Pueblo Entero to create a statement.
