Name: Larry Tidwell
Sport: Women’s Basketball
Title: Head Coach
Years coaching: 41 (three with the program)

What’s your favorite part of coaching basketball? “Recruiting, coaching the games and teaching the game.”
What’s your favorite place to eat off campus? “La Olla down on the square in Edinburg.”
How was the adjustment going from athlete to coach? “I made it so long ago, I forgot. I’ve been coaching 41 years and it’s a whole different thing. You just try to be mentally ready for practice, so you can teach 15 people. You’re worried about those people, whereas an athlete you just worry about what you need to get done.”
How do you feel coaching this team? “Coaching this team has been a journey this year. We’ve had some ups, we’ve had some downs. We’re trying to get more consistent. We’re trying to get set on a lineup because I’ve lost some players to injuries and suspension.”
Who is your favorite music artist? “My favorite music artist without question is The Temptations because I just like the fact that the music is really good to listen to and I can understand the words.”
Where would you go on your dream vacation? “I would go back to Iceland. Iceland is a great place.”
