Mitte on the Move
The Mitte Cultural District will host Mitte on the Move in partnership with District 1 City Commissioner Bryan L. Martinez to bring carnival rides, entertainment and snacks from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Brownsville Public Library-Southmost Branch, 4320 Southmost Road. Admission is free.
Fall Fiesta
The Southern Careers Institute will host its Fall Fiesta market day, where there will be food, music, pony rides, a car show and more from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday on the Harlingen Branch Campus, 1122 Morgan Blvd. in Harlingen.
Batman Day
The Comic Cave will host Batman Day, where exclusive comic books will be given away from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Comic Cave is located at 2370 Frontage Road 83, Suite 1522, in Brownsville.
Lunada Artisan Market
The City of Brownsville will host its last Lunada Artisan Market of the year. There will be vendors, food stands, artisans and entertainment from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Linear Park, located at East Sixth and East Ringgold streets. Admission is free.
Museums
‘Dr. García’s Gold’
The Museum of South Texas History will host “Dr. García’s Gold,” an exhibit featuring the life, family and mystery of Dr. José García, of San Diego, who “buried about 500 American gold coins under his house in San Diego after President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed an executive order to collect gold held privately by Americans,” according to the museum’s website. The museum, located at 200 N. Closner Blvd. in Edinburg, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $9 for adults and $6 for senior citizens, students and active military members.
