At 4:14 p.m. Monday, University Police reported a terroristic threat off campus in Hidalgo County.
The report states UTRGV Police detectives are investigating a terroristic threat and the case is under investigation.
Terroristic threats are a Class B misdemeanor and are punishable by a fine of no more than $2,000 and/or up to 180 days in county jail.
“That is a continuing investigation,” Assistant Chief of Police Van Slusser said in a phone interview today with The Rider. “All I can tell you is that we don’t believe that there is a current threat to the university, but we can’t really disclose any other information right now because that is a very active investigation.”
