April 9
6:49 p.m.: An officer responded to the Science building on the Edinburg campus in reference to a fire alarm. Initial indication was a duct detector issue. The Edinburg Fire Department arrived at the scene and reset the alarm, and the building was deemed safe for re-entry. A work order was placed to have the system inspected.
April 10
6:48 p.m.: An officer responded to the University Library on the Brownsville campus in reference to a fire alarm. A water leak in a mechanical room had triggered the alarm. The Brownsville Fire Department arrived, cleared the building and deemed it safe for re-entry. UTRGV Facilities was notified and no visible damage was reported.
April 13
5:56 a.m.: An officer responded to the UT Health RGV Surgery & Women’s Specialty Center in Harlingen in reference to a burglary alarm. The Harlingen Police Department was also notified and arrived at the center. Officers conducted a perimeter check and the center was secured with no signs of break in found.
April 14
3:55 p.m.: A staff member reported losing a university-issued access control card on Feb. 7 at an off-campus event in Edinburg. She was later notified the card was turned in to the Edinburg Police Department as found property and has been unsuccessful retrieving the item from them. The card is in the process of being deactivated.
