The following are among the incidents reported to University Police between Oct. 25 and 29.
Oct. 25
3:22 p.m.: A student reported that several items were stolen from his vehicle, which was parked in Lot L1. The estimated total value of items is $705. Surveillance video showed two women taking items from the vehicle. The Criminal Investigation Department is following leads.
Oct. 26
1:37 p.m.: A student was almost struck by a green Jeep Cherokee when he was walking across Ringgold Road near the Brownsville Early College High School building. The driver sped away from the area. The student provided a partial license plate for the vehicle, but wasn’t able to identify the operator.
Oct. 27
10:09 p.m.: A student reported damage to her vehicle while it was parked in Lot K2. Surveillance video showed possible identification of a vehicle and criminal charges were filed.
Oct. 29
1:39 a.m.: A traffic stop was conducted on a driver who displayed signs of intoxication. He was subsequently arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and was booked in Edinburg Municipal Jail, where he refused to provide the requested sample of breath.
