Who am I?
Hi! I’m Britney and I love fashion. From a young age, I’ve always enjoyed playing with Barbies, Bratz and playing dress up with my own box of secondhand clothes. Despite having a school uniform and an even stricter dress code for the majority of my primary and secondary schooling, I loved the challenge of customizing and putting a unique spin on my uniform, all while following dress code rules. Now that I’m a university student, I have complete creative freedom, which is something that I’ve wanted for a long time. I am also a reporter for The Rider, which gives me the opportunity to integrate my own personal style in a professional setting.
My style is constantly evolving and changing every day, but my biggest inspiration always stays consistent–all of you! I’m constantly looking to my peers and surroundings for fresh, new exciting ideas and I hope this blog does the same for you.
Why am I doing this?
As a college student, I have a limited budget and even less resources available to me, but I still strive to explore different fashion styles and expand my wardrobe.
I am from Los Fresnos, but live on campus because my parents do not have a car to be taking me back and forth from home to school every day. I do not have a car or a license myself, but my situation has taught me to be resourceful. I walk and take the public bus to get wherever I need to go, and I hope to share my tips with students who are in similar circumstances.
What’s next?
I want to use this blog as an outlet to share my fashion journey, personal style advice, opinions, inspirations and do-it-yourself tutorials. I will also use this platform to spotlight the style choices of the students here at UTRGV.
