The UTRGV Police Department intercepted two suspicious packages sent to the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses earlier today, according to an email sent to the campus community by University Marketing and Communications.
The packages pose no threat to the campus community, according to the email.
The Rider contacted Police Chief Raul Munguia, who said it is still an open investigation and referred the newspaper to Patrick Gonzales, associate vice president for UTRGV’s Marketing and Communications department.
“We don’t have any more information at this time,” Gonzales told The Rider via text message.
Further details will be provided as they are received.
