News Photos Thousands cast early votes The Rider October 31, 2022 Early voters go to the polling site last Tuesday in the Student Academic Center Lounge on the Edinburg campus. As of last Wednesday, 1,653 voters had cast a ballot in the ESTAC lounge. Overall, 29,332 voters, not including mail-in, had cast a ballot, according to unofficial numbers released by Hidalgo County. As of last Wednesday, Cameron County released unofficial numbers of voter turnout: 430 voters in the BINAB building and 17,620 voters, overall. Election Day is Nov. 8, and includes races for Texas governor, U.S. representative for District 34 and state senator for District 27. Early voting hours for the week of Oct. 31 for Brownsville are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Interdisciplinary Academic Building on the Brownsville campus and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the ESTAC lounge on the Edinburg campus.
