“It’s a lot of paperwork, but I mean everything is for a reason. It does kind of suck that it is such a long process, but I mean, you know, as they say, the early bird gets the worm. So, the faster you get it done, the faster it processes, the faster, you know, you get the money that you need. In my experiences here, I’ve been good. I mean, they were very well-informed, the people here at the Financial Aid office. They really helped me out with all the paperwork and if I ever had a question, I could always call and be like, ‘I don’t know what to do with this.’”

“Well, this semester I had to pay out of pocket because my FAFSA account didn’t get the documents through. I got picked, unfortunately, to further review my status and for that reason, my financial aid couldn’t come through. So, I’m still in the process: They made me wait, like, a couple of weeks each step, asking for additional documents, and yeah, it was very frustrating.”

“My experience with FAFSA was actually really great. I originally planned on attending UTSA; however, due to the fact that FAFSA was not going to be able to cover everything over there, I stayed here because they covered everything here. So, you know, although I wanted to leave, I’m still very satisfied with how things turned out.”

“I’m a student at UTRGV and thanks to financial aid, I have been getting my education paid for. I transferred from [South Texas College]. I got my associate’s there as an elementary education [major]. I appreciate the help I’ve been getting from them. I think it’s a great experience because without their help, I wouldn’t be able to come to college.”
