“I honestly believe that the government shutdown … is, honestly, irrelevant to the type of situations that we should honestly be addressing. For example, Flint, Mich., still does not have water. I think it’s ridiculous how we’re focusing more on a wall that has not scientifically proven to actually do anything, whereas cities, such as Flint that has hundreds of thousands of women and children and families with no access to clean water. I think it’s just ridiculous how our government is not addressing those types of situations first, rather than things that we really shouldn’t consider at the time.”
“When it comes to the government shutdown, I don’t know too much about it, politically, but I do know that for the student life, some people ran into problems with financial aid ’cause of the shutdown. I, personally, haven’t had any problems, but I have heard stories of people who are getting holds or they’re just not getting access to their aid, yet. I hope it gets fixed and all the students can get what they need.”
“I think that the government shutdown should already be ended. It’s already been a while now. It’s going on to be the longest one and people are getting affected by it. So, it should be ending soon. They should find a way to get to an agreement. I do know some friends that are being affected; they have a deadline for when they still have a job, basically.”
“I think they should have prepared before a shutdown, so they can approve the building, or not approve them. That’s just my point.”
