“Pues, es muy importante por que así aprendemos más de nuestro ambiente, conocemos más personas. Más que nada, aprendemos uno de otro, aprendemos más educación, aprendemos sobre las clases y, pues, nos ayudamos en los exámenes o más con las lecturas y todo eso”.
“I think it’s good because it gets you very involved in the college and makes you feel better about your studies. I attended REC Fest the other day and that was pretty exciting. I got to meet a few people. I’m kind of shy, so I kind of got myself out there. It was pretty fun. I see them frequently, so it kind of makes it a little bit less overwhelming when I go to the Rec Center because it does feel a little bit intimidating. But, after you get involved with other people, it seems a little easier.”
“For spirit, you have to be very cohesive with all the people around you and with your group and you have to know that you and your school– you give all, you’re all in, you know, it takes a lot. For us, right now, since I’m in FSA, Filipino Student Association, we are doing a dance and we are going to Austin to present us as the Vaqueros and how we are in the south and we are the south. So, what we have to do is that you have to do a lot of fundraising. We have to make sure we are into what we are doing and bring our spirit all together to represent us.”
“I think that school spirit is really important, especially in the fact that, as students, we want to see, like, other people get involved in different activities. So, that just, like, helps us to be more involved with them and, basically, just enjoy our time. For me, it makes things a whole lot easier, especially when it comes to studying, since, like, there’s, like, a lot of stress involved. I guess when people come together and show you how fun the school can be, like, it doesn’t have that much of a big impact on you. It just makes it fun, I guess.”
