“I would like to see more fraternities on campus. A lot of fraternities are in Edinburg and it makes it harder for me, residing here [in Brownsville]. I have to travel almost an hour and a half just to go be a part of a frat. It would just make it easier for everyone here on campus. I think UTRGV is pretty good with student involvement and events, so I really don’t have anything to add.”

“Me gustaría ver un equipo de fútbol americano. Yo creo que le falta, como, espíritu a esta universidad. Falta nuevas tradiciones y creo que un equipo sería una muy buena agregación a esta comunidad”.

“I honestly just like the traditions that we have already. It gives a sense of consistency and it really brings the students together. For example … The Stomp event. I feel when I was a freshman, I loved coming to these things to explore what’s out there in the community. Especially as a freshman, you go into college basically knowing, like, I have this expectation but this is what it really is.”

“A football team. So, that way, we have an actual homecoming celebration and I can actually enjoy the football game like I did in high school. There was always, like, the band playing, the drill team and cheerleaders. It’s just everyone yelling and having fun, with some food.”
