One of the most effective ways to relieve stress is to write out your feelings. As school pushes on and our daily lives continue to spin around us, it is easy to forget how important it is to sit down and work out our feelings.
On my own time, I make sure to carve out a part of my day to sit down with my thoughts and write whatever comes to me. Depending on the type of person you are, your journaling may look different from someone else’s.
One of the best ways to learn how to journal is through following popular Instagram pages that are dedicated to journaling or watching YouTube videos that are dedicated to decorating and writing in a journal.
It may feel bizarre to write out your feelings, but studies have shown that it can be greatly beneficial. A study conducted by the University of Rochester Medical Center found that journaling helps manage anxiety, reduce stress, cope with depression and even helps sort out emotions more effectively.
So, whenever you feel overwhelmed, just try to sit down and write it out. Whether it is the crafting that relieves you, writing a letter and throwing it away, or making it a habit to write every day, you are sure to find some kind of relief.
